Dermaplaning is a facial treatment in which a medical-grade, surgical, sterile blade is used to gently exfoliate the face. Dermaplaning is a skincare favorite because it has a number of benefits for the skin! BENEFITS OF DERMAPLANING: It feels like a an instant face lift, as it boosts collagen! Over time, helps to minimize the appearance of hyperpigmentation. With consistent treatments, improves skin texture, including minimizing scarring. During the process, pores are gently decongested, minimizing their appearance & allowing for deeper penetration of products. A bonus is how dermaplaning gently removes facial hair! (If you are wondering if the hair grows back thicker, the answer is NO!) Pre Treatment Care: 1 Week Prior: Discontinue products containing exfoliating agents (retinoic acid, tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, Vitamin A, etc.) Do not have any facial hair removal performed such as waxing or threading. If you recently had laser hair removal, ask the professional who did your laser when it is safe to get dermaplaning. For men, shave before the treatment, if you wish to have that area of the skin worked on, Refrain from exfoliating treatments & tools (Clarisonic brushes, chemical peels, etc.) Check with your health care professional on when it is okay to come in for treatment if you have recently had any cosmetic surgery or fillers on the face. Post Treatment Care: AVOID SUN EXPOSURE 5-7 after dermaplaning. Use a quality sunscreen, SPF or higher. REFRAIN from using exfoliating products, treatments, and tools 7-14 days post dermaplaning. Keep skin moisturized with quality moisturizers and antioxidant products! Keep skin especially clean for the 1st few days after treatment. (Avoid touching & keep hair off of face) Limit heat and sweating for the 1st 24 hours after treatment.
